Preschool
Our preschool program offers an environment that encourages creativity and learning through imaginative play, finger plays, music and movement, art projects, and social and emotional learning experiences.
A typical class consists of:
- Imaginative morning free play
- Open-ended art projects
- Healthy snacks
- Circle time (stories, songs, finger plays)
- Parachute play, music, and movement
- Physical inside and outside gross motor play
Programs:
Our KOTM preschool program is available for children that are completely potty-trained or 2 year olds that are currently in the process (pullups only, NO diapers) and between the ages of 2-12 years of age.
Times
Preschool for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years 9:00am -12:00pm (2-day, 3-day, or 5-day)
Preschool for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years 6:00am - 6:00pm (5-day)
-Busy Bees-Two Year Old Program:
Children must be 2 1/2 years old by September 30 and completely potty trained before entering our KOTM 2 year old class. Children 2 ½ years or older that are currently being potty trained (pull-ups only NO diapers) may be enrolled, if space is available, and will be placed in our 2 year old classroom until they are completely potty trained.
-Leaping Lizards- Three Year Old Program:
Children must be 3 years old by Sept 30 to be in our ‘Three Year Old Program’ as well as completely independent in use of the toilet. Also, students must have the ability to function within a 1:10 teacher to student ratio, understand and accept most directions when given, and maintain personal care.
-Racing Rhinos- Four Year Old Program:
Children must be 4 years old by Sept 30, to be in our ‘Four Year Old Program’ as well as does not require one to one supervision. Also must have ability to function within a 1:10 teacher to student ratio, takes turns most of the time, understands and follows most directions when given, and maintain personal care (i.e. eat, cloth and toilet independently)
-Chasing Cheetahs-School Age Program:
Children must be 5 years old by September 30 and attend Prince William County Public schools. Participation skills which must be present are as follows: ability to function within a 1:18 teacher to student ratio, does not require one to one supervision, ability to understand, follow and accept directions, takes turns and shares in a cooperative manner, respects others and property, maintains self control and the ability to maintain personal care (i.e. eat, cloth and toilet independently)
